The design of the LX-FT4 evokes a sense of speed and has simple, glove-friendly controls. Our previous experiences with other intercom sets haven’t been great because, at high speeds, all we heard was the sound of the wind. But Lexin proved us wrong with this Bluetooth intercom model. 

We noticed, however, that the FT4 tends to distort the speech of the person who speaks rather loudly into the microphone. But, considering the affordable price of the intercom, it is still a win in our perspective! The clear microphone covers this one disadvantage! 

The body of this Lexin device features an Illumination design with LED trim light that has three different colors, making you look super cool while riding! It provides added visibility to other vehicles around you at night. 

It will also remind you if the device is left on when unused. Smart, huh? The lights are eye-catching and make the intercom really good! It is also snow and ice-proof, and promises to work accurately even in freezing cool weather with an all-day battery! 

It has an added IP67 water resistance which means it can withstand for 30 minutes under 1m of water. It is also resistant to sand and dust that may damage the intercom. We tested it under heavy rainfall, because who doesn’t love going on adventures in the rain? 

And guess what, to our pleasant surprise, it functioned pretty well! The LX-FT4 is very lightweight, and you won’t feel its burden on your helmet! Who needs a heavy object on an already heavy helmet?

It has only three buttons, including the jog dial, making it easy and efficient to control. It was pretty easy to connect this intercom to other Bluetooth devices as it was quite intuitive and straightforward. 

However, because there are only three buttons, most functions are activated by pressing buttons simultaneously. That can be challenging for people with poor memory and users who are not very tech-savvy. 

The lithium-ion battery of this Bluetooth intercom sustains for 10-15 hours on a single charge and offers a standby time of over a week. We went on multiple long trips with this intercom and never ran out of battery. 

Using the provided USB cable, it takes about 2.5 hours for the LX-TF4 to charge completely. The LED strip running around the seam changes from red color to blue color when fully charged. At 20% battery, the FT4 sends a beep tone to alert you every five minutes.
